WW2 JAPANESE TERA TYPE 2 (TYPE 99 VARIATION) 7.7MM TAKEDOWN PARATROOPER RIFLE. Designed in 1942, all the Type 2 paratroop rifles were produced at the Nagoya Arsenal between 1943 and 1945. TERA is a contraction of the Japanese term Teishin Rakkasan, which translates literally as "Raiding Parachutes." There were some 21,200 Type 2's produced. The Type 2 is a takedown weapon; the weapon can be separated into two halves with the assistance of a wedge holding both parts of the weapon in place. This wedge is held together by a screw. The Type 2 remains the only paratrooper rifle used by the Japanese which was produced in any significant quantity. 7.7 Japanese
