Sharps & Company Percussion Pocket Revolver, manufactured only between 1857 and 1858 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Flayderman states that approximately 2,000 were manufactured, but consensus amongst Sharps collectors is that there were less than 200 made. This “Tip-up Barrel” percussion revolver was chambered only in .25 caliber. It came with a 3” octagon barrel and a 6-shot cylinder. The barrels were marked “C. SHARPS & Co” and “PHILA. PA.” These were very similar to the Smith & Wesson Model No. 1s but in percussion rather than in the .22 rimfire due to patent laws and the fact that S&W owned the rights to the Rollin White Patent for completely bored through cylinder chambers. The overall condition is very good. Strong action, although the cylinder does not lock up at present. The bore is in good shape for its age with good rifling. Lightly engraved frame and cylinder. Numbers match. Both grips contain average handling wear and remain firmly seated. This is very hard to find revolver that is rarely seen up for sale, much less in this condition. Here is an excellent opportunity to add a “keeper” to your collection. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 3 inches. Caliber: .25 Percussion Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail!
