Offered is what I believe to be a Jos Shafer Pennnsylvania Kentucky longrifle. The script bbl mark looks to me like Jos Shafer who worked in Union County PA per multiple listings. One collector believed the mark to be that of Jos Shuler which worked in Perry County. Bbl is 47" long overall length is 56". Approx 50 caliber with two inlays. Percussion lock is by whitmore & Wolff Pittsburgh. Has a brass wear plate and patch box.
