"Serial number 12518. Made in 1874. 45LC caliber with a 7 ½" barrel. This is a nice sharp gun with traces of blue in protected areas. Metal mostly has an even brownish gray patina. Grips are very good with a good visible cartouche. Several guns in this range were sold to the state of Virginia who sold them commercially. Other guns in this range ere issued to other state militias. This gun is completely original with no alterations. This gun comes with a letter of authentication from noted Colt Single Action expert John Kopec. He declares it all original and awarded this gun the coveted Golden seal reserved for only the original and finest guns at Mr. Kopec’s discretion.
