"Serial number 4012. Made in 1874. 45 LC caliber with a 5 ½" barrel. The metal is nice and sharp with good clear markings. The barrel has traces of blue in protected areas. The frame has good manila arsenal blue on the frame. This gun is marked on the right hand side of the frame “CO K 4 CAV" These gns were issued out of the San Antonio Arsenal. Company K was stationed at Fort Clark in Texas. Company K was in numerous battles during the Indian wars. This gun was then refurbished and converted into an Artillery Model. This gun comes with a letter of authentication from noted Colt Single Action expert John Kopec. He declares it all original and awarded this gun the coveted Silver seal reserved for only the original and finest guns at Mr. Kopec’s discretion.
