Description:
This Model 88 was the first really modern lever action made by Winchester. It is magazine fed, included with the Winchester logo. The pistol grip Walnut stock has the basket weave pressed checkering and black grip cap with checkered plastic butt plate. The round barrel is blued with ramp front sight and folding leaf rear sight. Someone has mounted a scope rail in the factory drilled holes, and also has sling eyes for sling mounts. The walnut stock is in great condition with just very minor handling marks with the metal having light wear on the barrel from handling, and the receiver turning a slight plumb color which is typical of rifles of this era and age. The bore is bright with well-defined rifling, overall a great condition rifle and fantastic collectable. .308 Winchester
