Description:
This is a USED Ruger M77 "ST" (otherwise known as a "ROUND TOP") bolt action rifle chambered in .30-06 Springfield. Ruger experimented a little by making some of their flagship Model M77 rifles with round receiver tops rather than the standard type with the integral ring bases. Intended for those shooters that just "had to have" separate bases and rings, the M77 was drilled and tapped for Remington Model 700 bases. Needless to say, it was a commercial flop and Ruger's production of the M77 was both short and very limited. Today these rifles are rarely encountered in the collectible market and typically are used in average to good condition. This exceptional 1982 vintage Ruger Model M77 in .30-06 Springfield is spectacular! This Ruger Model M77 has a factory gloss-blue finish on all of the metal parts, a factory drilled and tapped receiver, a 22" inch barrel with factory iron sights, an internal box magazine with a hinged floorplate, a tang-mounted safety, and a checkered deluxe American Walnut stock with factory-installed sling swivel studs and a red Ruger branded recoil pad. The factory blue finish rates 95%, with little wear, scratches, or blemishes. The bore is mirror-bright with crisp rifling. The checkered panels are crisp and pristine, and the factory installed recoil pad and sling studs are in perfect condition. The stock rates 95% with no cracks, chips, or repairs. All of the controls on this rifle are crisp and like-new, and the action is smooth and precise.
