Description:
8/9/23 price reduced once again to $1,495.00, 7/23/23 price reduced from $1,650.00 to $1,550.00. For sale is a Browning 1885 High Wall custom .40-65 BPCR with a 30" heavy ½ octagon ½ round Badger barrel. The rifle is in excellent condition throughout with a pristine chamber & bore. It was previously owned by a cabinet maker who made the tiger maple stock & the bench-rest style forearm. The raised cheek pad is held in place with double back tape and can be easily removed. No sights are available. The muzzle has a 3/8” dovetail for a front sight. The tang is drilled & tapped to accept a tang sight. The factory scope base holes are available to mount a modern scope. A rail adapter can be ordered from Steve Earle that will fit the existing holes to enable the use of an external adjustable vintage-style scope with a 7.2” base spacing.
On a very accurate postage scale the rifle weighs 11lbs 14oz. It will be shipped with a copy of the owner’s manual. Using a Lyman digital gauge, I measured the trigger pull at a crisp 1lb 3oz.

A signed copy of your dealer’s FFL will be required with their phone number. The rifle will be shipped to the address on the FFL. Shipping and handling is $75.00 (CONUS only), which also covers full insurance. Shipping to Alaska and Hawaii will require an additional charge. I only ship FedEx ground fully insured. For immediate shipping US Postal Service money orders are required. Certified cashier’s checks will delay shipping 5 business days.
