Description:
Original Civil War issued Remington percussion model 1861 Old Army revolver, serial number 11449 making this one of the last 50 "Old Army" models before the New Army models began at serial number 12000. It is all original with the exception of what I believe is a replaced hammer spring and grip screw, all numbers match, times and locks up tight for a pistol of this era and has the type of finish wear you would expect from a civil war issued pistol that was actually used. The top of the 8" .44 cal barrel is marked " PATENTED DEC. 17 1861 / MANUFACTURED BY REMINGTONS' ILION. N.Y." A small "H" is stamped on the brass trigger guard and what is left of the original cartouche can be seen on the left grip. Very nice hand made leather holster, appears to be period correct and fairly crude which is to be expected and fits the condition of the pistol nicely. Overall a very nice, honest original civil war issued pistol. Please see pictures for details, any questions please ask, US shipping only.
