Here we have an extremely hard to find Winchester rifle. This is the first year of production Winchester Model 57 Target bolt action rifle in 22 short caliber. Winchester made 18,281 of these rifles between 1927 and 1936. This gun was made in 1927. It has a 22" barrel with open sights. It has a removable 5-round factory magazine, with the magazine release button on the left side of the stock. The original blue finish has worn to a rich greyish / brown patina. The uncheckered walnut stock shows very light wear for its age, with no cracks or chips, and it has the original checkered steel butt=plate. The bore has good rifling. The serial number is 4827. Once pieces like this are absorbed in the collector’s market they are basically “GONE”. Hard assets are the wave of the future. In order to complete the transaction, we will need a copy of your FFL, or when appropriate C&R of your choice for shipping purposes. For payment we will accept personal checks, money orders, certified check or cashiers’ check, all major credit cards. Credit cards are acceptable with a 4% up-charge for processing.
