The receiver of this rifle was manufactured by Springfield in June of 1943, and the rifle itself has a mixture of 1943 and 1944 SA parts. The metal retains 90-92% of the original parkerized finish, with silvering and gray fading at the muzzle, along the exposed edges and projections, and on the bearing surfaces of the bolt and op-rod raceway. The late-war barrel has a "1 SA 3 44" date, and the trigger group housing is also from later wartime production, but the bolt and unmodified op-rod are correct for a June 1943-made Garand. The walnut stock set is in fine-near excellent condition, having minor scratches and handling marks in the armory reapplied military oil finish. Clear and legible "S.A. / G.A.W." and Ordnance Department crossed cannons are present on the left side (again correct for a 1944-made rifle). This is a splendid looking Garand, made from original WW2 parts (1943-1944), and is in excellent condition overall.
