Description:
This is a 1929 proof sporting rifle by Abesser - Mauser on a commercial Oberndorf Mauser action. The rifle is fitted with a 22 inch half octagon to round barrel with a full integral rib. Workmanship is superb, as one would expect from these builders. Stock is signed "1928" in the barrel channel by the stocker. The stock has a 14.25" LOP. Weight: 7 lbs. 13.6 oz. All Mauser number are matching. Rifle appears to have seen very little use. Bore is as new. Overall excellent condition. Trap in the buttstock contains the original wooden cleaning rod.
Rifle was imported by Sloan's Sporting Goods, NY and is identified with their inventory number 22101. Left side of barrel is marked " 30/06 Regulated for Remington's 180 Grain Bullet" . Mauser Serial Number: 103943.
