Description:
This is a rare "HINSDALE" marked revolver made by Hopkins & Allen during the 19th century especially for ornithologists and taxidermists. It's in caliber .38 RF and was specifically designed to handle cartridges loaded with shot. 24-3/4 inch barrel. Detachable wooden stock. Smooth bore. Full nickel. Original Hopkins and Allen grips with the signature dog insignia. Detachable wooden stock is in very good condition and seldom seen with these, as most are missing. Mechanics need a little tune-up. Some flaking of the nickel. Serial number 104. These guns are very rare and hard to find. This is a chance to fill a hole in your collection!
