Description:
This is a JP Sauer "Royal" (high grade) side by side 20 Ga. shotgun that was made in Germany back in November 1960. It has 26" barrels choked Skeet/IC and the bores are mirror bright. One tiny dent on the left barrel underneath. It has auto ejectors that are working just fine with a solid and hard eject. Auto safety is working fine. Two triggers which many double gun shooters prefer. It is a scalloped boxlock action with cocking indicators and the back plate has side fences. Semi-beavertail forend with Deely latch. Cross bolt safety with double locking lugs. Ivory front bead. Raised matted rib. The gun is bank vault tight and the barrels ring true. It is all original blue, varnish and case colors which are faded to mainly silver. The barrels have some blue gone near the muzzles. Probably from exposer to blood. The metal under neath is not damaged and this could be repaired with touch up. The stock is solid no cracks but some minor weatherchecks behind the receiver and the decorative diamond insert on the stock bottom has gone missing. This gun never had sling swivels. The butt stock has a cheek piece on its right side for a left handed shooter. The gun works fine for right handed shooter with no cheekpiece there. Butt plate is original. The gun weighs in at 6 Lbs and 5 Oz., LOP is 14 1/4" to the front trigger, drop is 2 1/4". Very nice dimensions. I am Oregon Lumberjack on the other big site, with 1000's of positive feedbacks.
