"Springfield 1886 Trapdoor Carbine Experimental. Extremely rare gun! Only 1000 of these guns were made but they do not have a high survival rate. Major distinguishing feature is the full length carbine. The barrel has a smooth brown patina through the metal. The trap door still has case colors in protected areas. Wood has been lightly refinished. Cartouches are still visible. Nice rare gun!
