MARLIN 1893 .38-55 OCTAGON RIFLE, #235XXX, MADE 1902. Really attractive example with full deep blue on the barrel and unclleaned thinning blue mixing plum on the magazine tube. the receiver is also an uncleaned mottled gray/brown with good blue on the loading gate- at worst a slight indication of past rust on the forward portion of the lever edge on the right side that is almost too minor to mention (you'd have to look to find it). Sharp correct markings including the "Special Smokeless Steel" stamping on the left side of the barrel. Original buckhorn rear sight with elevator bar and Rocky Mountain blade front sight. Excellent stock and forend with very tight wood to metal fit. tight action, strong springs and solid safety half-cock. EXCELLENT bore. These are getting hard to find, especially this nice.
