Description:
Rare Winchester Hotchkiss First Model 1879 Navy .45-70 caliber bolt action rifle. Blue about 50% on barrel finish, mostly blue on recieved. Manufactured to Navy reqirements first year of production in 1879. Only 1,474 United States Navy First Model Rifles were ever produced.
- Barrel is stamped "R, US," Navy Anchor, and "VP" with eagle head.
- Winchester 3 line address and patent dates on left side of receiver.
- Barrel bands stamped "U". Blade front sight.
- Adjustable rear sight. Bery good stock. Sling swivels. Cleaning rod. Caliber / Gauge: 45-70

Condition: Overall very good. Light wear and oxidation. Very good bore with good rifling and light oxidation near muzzle. Functions mechanically very good.
