This is a scarce military version of a Remington 870 shotgun, Ohio National Guard contract of 1970-1971. A few hundred of these were purchased by the government in riot configuration and some were used in Kent State student riots.
This example must be the best conditioned of the bunch with nearly 99% of original blue remaining with most of the varnish still on the stock.
