Description:
Winchester Model 1886 chambered in 45-70 Government. This is a lever-action repeating rifle designed by John Browning to handle some of the more powerful cartridges of the period. Though originally designed for black powder cartridge, the action was strong enough to transtion to smokeless powder with only minor changes. The rifle is in good condition with the metal smoothly rusted or lightly pitted in places. The Principal lettering, numerals and design on metal is legible. It is in good working order. This rifle was manufactured in 1895. .45-70 Government
