NSN, made in 1829, .69 caliber, 42"" round smoothbore barrel. First contract of 15,000 flintlock muskets by Whitney with the Lock plate marked ""US/P&E.W Blake"" forward of the hammer with ""NEW HAVEN/1829"" Barrel and Iron parts are a dark brown patina with surface oxidation noted. Stock has been lightly sanded at some point but retains two handsome cartouches with ""Ohio"" also stamped in between. Action holds at half and full cock.
