Serial No. 24, circa 1859-1862, .52 caliber, .32"" round rifled barrel. Possibly less than 50 manufactured this single shot breech loader is a hard to find Civil War era rifle! Barrel is turning to a plum patina with scattered surface oxidation noted. The breech is marked ""Cosmopolitan Arms Co./Hamilton US/Gross Patent"" Original case coloring is visible on the receiver, lever and protected areas. Bore is near excellent with some minor frosting noted. Walnut buttstock has visible scratches, nicks and dings. Action functions correctly with hammer holding at half and full cock.
