Description:
S O L D ......44-40 Colt SAA Mfg 1880....LAYAWAY?......44-40. 7.5" barrel length. SN: 57687 Matching on frame, triggerguard and backstrap. Has not been disassemble. (Mfg. Ca 1880) Blued metal finish, one piece walnut grips, and topstrap notch with front blade sights. Single action loading gate revolver with six-shot cylinder and featuring the early screw retained cylinder pin frame. The barrel metal work shows rounded edges indicating buffing and refinishing at some point, and no Colt maker mark is visible on the top of the barrel, though the barrel itself is numbered 7687 beneath the ejector rod housing. The left frame bears a weak three-line patent marking with no visible Rampant Colt logo beside it. Caliber marking 44 CF remains visible on the left triggerguard.
Condition:
Good as Refinished. Bore is Dark with weak rifling and light pitting throughout. A weak blued metal finish is visible on the barrel and frame with gray patina dominating the assorted losses. Scattered light mars and dings on assorted metalwork. The grips have some mars and dents with light handling wear and minor gaps at the forward edges. Action times and indexes correctly (STRONG 4 click). There is no securing screw for the cylinder pin, and the metal around the screw hole has been ground down with some chipping at the edges......2nd FIREARM SHIPS FREE WITh THIS ONE!...s/h $30.....Thanks, Greg cp
