SOLD TO GARY ROSS , VAIL, AZ Listing another of my collection of shooters, a 1892 saddle ring carbine, sn, 904038, mfgd 1920 , of over one million 1892's produced , 1/3 being carbines also I'd read about 7% were 32/20's, how many in saddle rings I've not a clue, Built from 1892 through 1935 & cataloged into 1945 . A 1:20 twist made for good mid-range shooters . True Grit, The Rifleman, Steve McQueen, his Mares Leg rifle, these rifles starred in dozens of movie & TV westerns. Even Admiral Peary took one along to the North Pole. Mr Browning came up with its design rather quickly as Winchester was feeling the heat from Marlins model 1888 top eject rifles offered in the pistol cartidge's then in Marlins new 1889 the first side eject. Some one tried to improve on the blueing and the wood finish before I claimed ownership but it still catch's one's eye as a nice little carbine. She loads, cycles and shoots excellent with its ladder style rear sight. She's all there, tight as a drum. The bores nice I've shot it plenty.
