S O L D ..........38 LONG not .38-40 WCF.....CCR NEEDED...(Shooter)... Colt Single Action Army .38....NICE!...NICKEL PLATED...IVORY GRIPS..LAYAWAY?. .38 Long Colt. 5.5" barrel length. SN: 350120. (Mfg. ca.1927) Nickel plated finish overall with simulated ivory grips and kidney shaped ejector rod head. Single-action loading gate six-shot revolver mounting topstrap notch and front blade sights. The left frame has been struck with the two line patent PAT.SEPT.19.1871./JULY 1.72JAN.19.75. followed by the {Rampant Colt} logo. The left barrel displays the caliber marking 38 COLT. with the single line address on top of the barrel reading COLT'S PT. F.A. MGF. CO. HARTFORD. CT. U.S.A. Item shows the assembly number 663 on the loading gate. The revolver mounts a leather mainspring spacer. The O in HARTFORD on the barrel is weak at one edge, and the patent marking is deeply struck with the number 19 in the final date showing a weak 1. The edges of the metal work are sharp. Interior grips have the maker's name written on them in marker. In 1920, Colt moved serial number from buttsrap to interior frame. This Colt shows matchiung serial number on frame.
Condition:
FINE+/EXCELLENT. Bore is Minty with sharp rifling throughout. The overall metal finish is excellent The markings show some very minor weakness on the caliber and barrel markings. All the screw heads are nickel plated, as are the trigger and hammer. Grips show some cracking on both flanks with a bright white color predominating. The cylinder shows a faint turn ring. Action displays good timing. Hammer a little weak, with smooth 4 CLICK ACTION...
