From the Blaser - Just as diverse as hunting, so are the demands hunters place on their rifles. To say the R8 is just a bolt action rifle is the understatement of the century. More than just a rifle it is a platform that allows you the flexibility to interchange calibers while providing ergonomic perfection in stock design and unequaled trigger performance. The Blaser R8 Professional encompasses many unique features such as a combined magazine and trigger assembly that removes together for quick and safe reloads, the removal of the trigger assembly automatically decocks the action. This combined unit also saves about 3 ½” off the overall length of the rifle making the R8 extremely compact for its performance. The Blaser’s ingenious collet locking mechanism provides 360 degrees of lockup, as the pressure builds upon firing a round, the cartridge head pushes back against the boltface, and the locking surfaces wedge even tighter, making the rifle incredibly safe. The rifle is designed to be taken apart and re assembled with a different caliber in just a few minutes. The gun can be quickly changed from left-handed to right-handed in a few easy steps. The barrels are milled to accept Blaser’s Saddle scope mount. This Blaser is fitted with the IC (Illumination Control) bolt housing whereby a sensor in the eyepiece recognizes the position of the cocking slide and automatically regulates the switch-on/-off function of an illuminated reticle. With Blaser’s straight pull design this is a rifle that is incredibly safe, compact, well-balanced, and fast to operate.

The whole kit is securely packaged in a heavy-duty Pelican case custom fit for the Blaser R8 and its accessories.
VFI has additional barrels, a left-handed bolt housing and both right- and left-handed bolts. If you have multiple shooters in your family, then this rifle can very quickly be adapted to everyone’s preferences and sporting challenge! The Blaser R8 is a true multipurpose system.
