Made famous in the movie Dirty Harry, the Smith and Wesson Model 29 was made famous at the time as \"The most powerful handgun in the world\".
S&W‚‚s production of a large N-frame revolver in .44 Magnum began in 1955; the Model 29 designation was applied in 1957. This Smith & Wesson 29-3 shows serial number AZL8821 indicating a ship date in 1988. Below the serial number is marked Mod. 29-3. This revolver is chambered in .44 Magnum/.44 Special and holds the standard six rounds. The revolver has an 8 3/8\" ported barrel with a high polish blue finish. Rubber Pachmayr Gripper grips top of this beautiful revolver.
This firearm is in excellent condition with no visible nicks, scratches, rust or pitting. The bluing retains a very high luster polished bluing that is immaculate, showing no muzzle/holster wear or notable imperfections. The rifling is sharp and looks essentially new; this revolver has not had many rounds through it. The cylinder locks up tight and dry fire is crisp like new. Though this revolver cycles as expected, we did not perform a test fire. All due dilligence should be performed in maintenance and inspection before use.
