Description:
Serial #A11343, .303 British, 25" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is aSavage-made rifle that has retained 95-97% of an armory applied Suncorite finish added during a postwar, 1954 dated FTR (the rifle was renumbered then as well). The matching numbered bolt exhibits some further mild wear and finish loss on the bearing surfaces, and the handle has flaked to dark gray underlying metal in spots. A Mk. 1 rear sight is fitted. The walnut buttstock, matching numbered forend, and handguards are in fine condition with minor handling marks scattered about the reapplied military oil finish, and the brass buttplate has an overall dark ochre patina with a small armory repair at the toe. The rifle is accompanied by a single matching numbered magazine, and an original canvas sling. This is a fine example of a postwar refurbished No. 4. FFL or C&R
