This is the most difficult Imperial German Navy Luger variation for a collector to acquire:
A 1906 Navy with an unaltered thumb safety as nearly all of the original 1906 pattern naval Lugers had their safety altered to a down position and remarked.
This gun is in incredible original 98% plus condition showing practically no wear except for minimal holster wear on the high edges of the side plate and on the muzzle. Grip straps are near perfect. The gun is all matching including grips, and comes with a mismatched correct period magazine only about a 1000 serial numbers away. The bore is like a mirror with perfect rifling. The grips are near mint. The grip straps are near perfect as well. There is a rare property/unit mark on the rear grip strap: II S.B. 82 as the gun was issued to the second Sea(Marine) Battalion stationed in Kiel. The gun is complete with an original brown holster marked Adolph Schwartz, Berlin 39, 1916 made of beautiful pebble grain leather in excellent condition with no defects.
All in all, it is a fantastic all original set that would be almost possible to upgrade.
