A Very Rare & Desirable Civil War Percussion Four Screw Colt Model 1851 Navy Revolver Cut For Stock With An Iron Backstrap In Fine Untouched Condition. Serial # 163,693, All matching numbers including the wedge. Made in 1863, all original & complete. The revolver has fine metal, markings, and edges. It has a fine and clear cylinder scene. The barrel has a one line New York Address. The barrel and cylinder on the gun both have an even natural plum brown patina throughout them with small protected areas showing spots of original blue. The frame, loading lever & hammer show light mottled factory case colors. The iron backstrap and brass trigger guard are both nice throughout. The trigger guard retains lots of untouched original silver on it. All screws are fine and show original blue on them. The original factory grips are nice throughout. The right side has an old period sliver of wood missing as shown in the photo. They retain most of their original factory varnish on them. The bore is fine and the action is very tight and crisp.
