Description:
Own this lightweight aluminum frame Smith & Wesson and enjoy its ergonomic grip and 5-round capacity ideal for conceal carry. Featuring a tight cylinder lockup and crisp trigger pull this S&W would make a fine addition to any collection. The small Smith & Wesson 5-shot J-Frame double action only (DAO) 38 S&W SPECIAL +P revolvers debuted with 1950's Model 40 that evolved into the Model 42 Centennial Airweight. The 642 is one of its Airweight descendants: it combines classic retro looks with modern manufacturing, lightweight materials and a stainless-steel/silver look. A great thing about the 642 is its Crimson Trace Lasergrips option. All 642s share a frame that includes an integrated front ramp sight and a fixed rear one. The barrel is just 1.875" long while overall length is 6.3". Model 642s come in stainless-steel with black polymer grips. Like its predecessors, it's double action only (DAO). While this snag-free highly portable self-defense design is wonderfully cohesive and compact for conceal carry, it's made of several different materials. The frame is lightweight aluminum alloy that's given a matte silver finish. Both the barrel and fluted 5-round cylinder are stainless-steel.
