Description:
This is a Colt Model 1911A1 that was made back in 1942 just a few months after the start of WWII. It is in excellent original condition of parkerized finish and small parts. Never overhauled and not an import. The family of the GI brought the gun to the shop. The bore is very good with some minor frost. The action is smooth and tight. It is little fired. The slide is matching numbers to the frame. The Colt barrel is the correct small G for this serial range. The grips are correctly hollow back with no ribs inside. The small parts are all early style milled. Sights are original. Magaziine is the correct and original to the gun commercial style transfered to the military with sandblasted bottom and blued body. Like this one, All the Colt mags of this time frame have the "flaking off" blue on the body. This pistol is a great find in this fantastic condition.
