Description:
Winchester model 1873 rifle, .44-40, 24" barrel. Serial #155727A, 1884 manufacture. Very good clean light rifled bore, metal overall is a pleasing dove-tail grey age patina. Very good, clear barrel address is all there. Top of barrel at breech as well as brass block both stamped "44 CAL". Mechanics are very good. Original sights, buckhorn rear sight complete with elevator. Wood is very good+ with much Western character, handling wear, shows no major defects. Correct rifle crescent-style buttplate with compartment, original dust cover. .100% correct and original '73 Winchester carbine in desirable .44-40, much better than average.
This '73 came out of Fredericksburg, Texas.
