Offered for your consideration is this beautiful Theodore Roosevelt, Father of Conservation, 150 year(1858-2008) Winchester Model 1895 rifle in .405 Winchester caliber. Included is an RCBS 3 die set for handloading, an RCBS #24 shell holder, 29 new, unprimed, Hornady brass cases, 30 Barnes 300 grain TSXFB(Triple Shock-X Flat Base) bullets, 14 of my handloads, and 6 once fired cases. The rifle is in very good condition overall and has seen minimal time afield. It is beautifully engraved on both sides of the receiver, magazine box, and lever. It also has an inletted Theodore Roosevelt medallion in the butt stock, and there is a Theodore Roosevelt signature in gold on the top of the barrel in front of the rear sight. The stock wood is nicely figured and has an attractive low lustre finish. Please note the scratches on the left side of the buttstock and a few other handling and use marks at the nose of the comb and near the inletted medallion. There are also a few small marks on the forearm near the receiver. The checkering in all panels is strong, well pointed up, undamaged, and with no chipped diamonds or border overruns.The receiver is in excellent condition with no dings or scratches. The same holds true for the barrel and butt plate, which are beautifully blued. The bore is in very good condition as the last two photos, taken with my Lyman bore scope/camera, show. The accompanying handload shot to point of aim at 100 yards over my Primos tripod while standing. I have been unsuccessful hunting our coastal blacktail deer here in northern California, and figure it's time for another hunter, or possibly collector, to enjoy its exceptional qualities.
