Description:
Made in 1898 on a #1 frame with 28 inch damascus barrels. This gun with splinter forend, double triggers, extractors, capped pistol grip buttstock and original skeleton buttplate. The gun is very nicely engraved in the early "C" grade pattern with game scenes on sides and bottom. Buttstock is of particularly nice French Walnut as seen in the photos with nice grain layout.
This gun remains in fine original condition. Barrels with more than 95% renewed damascus pattern. Buttstock and forend are excellent and sound with find hand rubbed finish and some minor subsequent handling marks scattered about. The frame has traces of original color remaining and engraving remains mostly crisp. Gun locks up tight and mechanics are excellent. Bores are mostly bright and shiny.
