U.S. REMINGTON M1903A3 Single Shot BOLT ACTION .22 LR Conversion Rifle C&R
11-28 Dated Barrel
Here we present a C&R U.S. Remington Model 1903A3 Single Shot Bolt Action .22 Caliber Conversion Rifle, made in Ilion, New York. This rifle was converted to .22 Long Rifle using a “SA/11-28” M2 barrel. It also has an “M2”.22 bolt. The Springfield Model 1922 is a .22 caliber bolt-action rifle. It features a 24-inch barrel and a 5-round magazine. It was built as a cadet rifle, designed to mimic the M1903 Springfield rifle for training purposes. It was produced in several different versions until World War II, when shortages of materials made production of a training rifle impractical. This is a very neat and quite scarce conversion.
The overall condition is very good. Armory finish. The action is excellent. The bore is shiny bright with sharp rifling. The stock shows use and there is a stable split in the middle of the top handguard that looks climate related rather than from impact. There is a subtle repair just behind the receiver on the right side.
