Single Shot Rifle Made in 1893
Here we present an antique Winchester Model 1885 Low Wall Rifle, chambered in .32-20 Winchester Center Fire made in 1893 in New Haven, Connecticut. One of John Moses Browning’s designs for Winchester, this action was known for its simplicity, strength, and accuracy across a broad range of chamberings large and small. This rifle is chambered in a common pistol cartridge of the day, something that would have paired well with a Colt Single Action Army (SAA) in the same or even a Winchester Model 1873 in a repeater.
The overall condition is very good. Original blue finish on the barrel and case colors on the frame and falling block. Excellent action. The bore is shootable: reflective of light with decent rifling with some erosion and light pitting in places. This example sports a solid walnut stock throughout with an average amount of use.
