Description:
This is a typical Indian used weapon with simple brass tacking.  The barrel is marked "Freund Bros" noted German gunsmiths that operated gun shops in Denver, CO and Cheyenne, WY specializing in customization of Sharps and other manufacturers rifles during the western movement.  This rifle came out of the Larry Larom collection and was owned by the Buffalo Bill Museum.  The museum traded this Winchester with several other items to Mr. R. W. Smith of Evergreen, CO in 1984 for some original Annie Oakley material.  Paperwork regarding the transfer is provided with the rifle along with a copy of the Cody Firearms Record.
