A Very Early U.S. Mexican War And Civil War Issued Ames Model 1832 Short Artillery Sword Dated 1835 With Its Original Buffed Leather Frog And Belt With Two Piece "US" Interlocking Buckle In Excellent Original Condition. All original and complete. The sword has a fine original blade with nice markings on it. Marked with an "EAGLE/N.P. AMES/SPRINGFIELD" on one side & "UNITED STATES/1835" on the other. The excellent blade is bright with very crisp edges throughout. The brass grip and cross guard are excellent and untouched. The guard is marked "ORD" on the underside. The scabbard is excellent throughout with no cracks or breaks in the leather. the brass fittings are very fine and untouched. The original white buffed leather frog and belt are excellent and untouched throughout as is the two piece brass interlocking "US" buckle. This Is A Very Fine Untouched Example Of A Very Early U.S. Mexican War & Civil War Issued Ames Model 1832 Short Artillery Sword Dated 1835 That Would Make a Wonderful Addition To Any Fine Collection!
