Description:
1947 - Browning A5 "Light Sixteen" - 16ga, 2-3/4", 25-1/2" IC Plain Barrel, Weight 6 lbs. 15 oz.

A pretty scarce niche in the story of the A5 16ga guns. Before 1947 the 16ga guns had 2-9/16" chambers. After 1947 the Lightweight 16 Bores were marked "Sweet Sixteen." Therefore, only guns made in 1947 could be "Lightweight" and have 2-3/4" chambers.

Only 12665 16ga guns were made in 1947. Probably most were Standard Weight, so maybe only 3000 to 4000 were Lightweight. Can't be many left in this condition.

The gun is totally original and has seen very little use. All numbers match. However, there are some freckles on top of the receiver and the back of the "hump" - almost exclusively on the right side. There are photos detailing the damage. Look at all the photos! I tried to make it look as bad as possible. The gun looks much better in person.
