Description: PRICE REDUCED--For sale is a early octagon top receiver Winchester 1885 originally in 25-20 S.S. rechambered to 25-35 WCF caliber. This is the third gun I have converted to 25-35WCF and all shoot extremely well using 87 to 100 grain spire point bullets. This gun sports a 30" #1 octagon barrel with a replacement front sight to accomodate the flatter shooting 25-35 caliber. I would rate the bore at a 7/10 with a gray bore but strong rifling. The receiver shows good original case coloring for a nearly 140 year old gun. The barrel finish has numerous dings, discoloration, and scratches but still retains over 50% of the original finish with no pitting. The wood has typical dings and bruises found on a gun this old. The buttstock may have been refinished but has no cracks or chips. This is an antique firearm so it may be shipped directly to you if lawful at your locale. Shipping is via USPS ground, insured and tracked for $75.
