This .30-06 caliber semi-automatic rifle was that standard U.S. service rifle during World War II and the Korean War and also saw service during the Vietnam War. Most were issued to U.S. forces, though some were also provided as foreign aid to American allies. To say that it was and is highly regarded would be an understatement. In the words of General Patton, “In my opinion, the M1 rifle is the greatest battle implement ever devised.” This rifle features a Springfield Armory receiver that dates to 1944. The barrel is marked HRA 10-51 P. The bolt is marked D28287-12SA/RE5B. The trigger group is marked D 28290 BR and hammer C46008 1W RA. The receiver leg is marked 0 6D with a diamond as well as D 28291 32. The op rod is marked 7790722 SA. The stock is Ordnance marked with a boxed eagle on the left stock flat. The front of the pistol grip has a circle “P”. The overall condition is very good. The action is excellent. The bore is in very good shape and measures .302 at the muzzle.
