LC Smith 1E #5093 (1901)
This L C Smith grade 1E is a 12 gauge. The 30” Damascus barrels are bored full and modified and have excellent bores except for a miner place about 10” from the muzzle of the left barrel where a dent was removed. Made in 1901 it is engraved with a nice vignette on each side plate. It still retains some case color, and the metal is clean of except for a little around of the edges of the left lock plate. . The English walnut stock has been nicely refinished, and checkering picked up. Stock measurements are LOP – 14 1/8”, DC – 1 5/16", and DH – 2 ½”. This gun would have been nitro proved for 1 1/4 oz at 1200 fps. This gun is being sold as a wall hanger. Safety does not work.It was improperly assembled such that the safety cannot be disengaged, and the left lock main spring is missing. Although fixable I did not think it was worth the trouble.
