Description:
This is an extremely rare and seldom seen leather Mauser K98 action cover. The leather is soft and pliable and shows natural signs of aging such as light surface wrinkling and mild scuffs as well as light wrinkling on the leather strap. The closure clasp is nonmagnetic brass with an unpolished natural aged appearance. This extremely rare accessory had a very practical application for keeping dirt and grime out of the action area of the rifle. They were favored by German infantry troops who were fortunate enough to have one for keeping their rifle in prime working order. Excellent stitching throughout. Makes a fantastic display piece when installed on the Mauser K98 rifle. There is one of these featured on Legacy Collectibles $800.00, if that gives you any insight as to the rarity of this item.
