U.S. Springfield model 1879 trapdoor chambered in .45-70. Serial number is 218572. Barrel is 32 5/8"". Metal has a scattered light grey patina with surface oxidation. Bore is good with frosting visible in the grooves. Stock shows usage and handling wear with faint cartouches visible. The initials ""WD"" are carved into the wood on the right side. Action mechanically functions correctly.
