Description:
Tag on gun said it is original 1863 with the sideplate replaced. I will describe as best i can. I know very little about it. Look at pictures. Ask questions. Be your own judge. I am priceing it in the reproduction price range. If it is indeed original, that will be your good luck. 40" round barrel with good bore, only writeing on barrel is serial number on rear left side. Blue on barrel and bands less than 50%. Color case hardened sideplate with very bright coloring marked 1864, Springfield Navy Armsco Ridgefield N.J. USA. Walnut stock has a 1" crack behind tang, otherwise good with normal handling marks. has cap cover and barrel plug. Email with any questions or to offer your opinion.
