Description:
In 1960, Marlin produced special presentation Model 39-A 22 caliber rifles and carbines to commemorate the company’s 90th anniversary. Production was limited to 500 39-A Golden rifles and 500 39-A Golden Mountie carbines. The Model 39-A offered here is number 100 of the 500 Golden Mountie carbines made that year. It is in beautiful condition and has all the features of a standard Golden 39-A Mountie but also features chrome plating on all the metal surfaces of the receiver and barrel (except the sights), select grade American walnut stock and forearm with fine–line hand checkering, and a carved squirrel figure in the right side of the stock. This rifle is completely original, unaltered, and is in beautiful condition. There is no evidence of rust, scratches, or handling marks; the only defect is a couple small spots where the plating has flaked, which I have pictured. Sorry, I don’t have the box or manual.
