Serial #1,638, all matching numbers. Made in 1864. Only a total of 2,750 made, in .36 caliber. These were made to copy the Colt 1862 Police Revolver. The revolver has fine metal, markings, and edges. There is no barrel address on it which is correct as it is in the serial range of 1,100-1,800. These were the first ones made. The later ones had the "Metropolitan Address" on them. All of the metal on the revolver has a very even chocolate brown natural patina with some areas showing thinning blue throughout. The frame, lever, and hammer show darkening mottled case colors. All screws are fine with color. The brass backstrap and trigger guard are fine throughout. There are four initials in script on the bottom of backstrap. These are finely period engraved and are"W.J.B.L.". The original grips are excellent throughout with a very fine grain in them. The gun has a fine action and bore.
