Description:
22 inch round barrel chambered in 45-70 caliber with a better than average bore. Correct 500 yard rear sight base with the ladder graduated out to 1200 yards. The trapdoor is marked "1873". Correct markings on the side plate. Early style arched block. Sling ring. Wood has been lightly cleaned but still has visible cartouche. Metal is a plum/brown color with some minor cleaning. 35k serial range. Barrel is unmarked and without eagle head and proof marks. Smooth trigger. Barrel band has a swivel and the triggerguard does not. Buttplate is solid with no trapdoor. Not a bad looking Custer era gun.
