Description:
REMINGTON Model 1900 SXS SHOTGUN 12G Ilion NY HAMMERLESS KD Double BBL  C&R

Side by Side from the Early-20th Century

Here we present an antique Remington Model 1900 Hammerless Double Barrel Side by Side Shotgun, manufactured circa the early 1900s in Ilion, New York. The Model 1900 was a lower priced version of the Model 1894, which was Remington’s first hammerless double barrel shotgun. It was introduced in 1900 and discontinued in 1910 with roughly 99,000 examples produced.

This break action shotgun was available in 12 and 16 gauge with the serial number range spanning between 300,000 and 399,000. It came in four different grades including the “K” grade which had Remington steel barrels. The grade “KE” grade had Remington steel barrels with auto ejectors. The “KD” grade had two stripe Damascus barrels, and the “KED” grade had two stripe Damascus barrels with auto ejectors.

Remington Arms was founded in 1816 by Eliphalet Remington in Ilion, New York, as E. Remington and Sons. Remington is America's oldest gun maker and is claimed to be America's oldest factory that still makes its original product. Remington is the largest U.S. producer of shotguns and rifles.

The overall condition is good. Very nice, original Damascus Twist pattern on the barrels with a plum patina overall. The actions are excellent. The bores are bright and smooth. The top lever is functional but needs to be manually returned to center. The stock shows use and remains solid. Numbers match throughout.
