Description:
c1840s WABASH, INDIANA J.S. BURSON Long Rifle Full-Stock .36 Maple  Antique

Kentucky Style Rifle Made by a Quaker!

Here we present an antique J.S. Burson Long Rifle, made circa the 1840s in Wabash, Indiana. Joshua Seth Burson was born in 1820 and died in 1897. He was an active gunmaker and miller in Wabash between the years of 1840 through 1869. He was also a Quaker like his family before him. Two of his sons fought in the American Civil War.

This rifle has a full-length stock and a fully-octagonal barrel in .36 caliber. The stock is of striped maple. Double set triggers. T&B lock.

The overall condition is good. The finish has matured into a smooth brown patina. Robust action. The bore is in good shape for its age. This example has maintained a solid stock but does contain a repaired crack at the wrist.

Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.

Barrel is 37-3/4 inches.

Caliber: .36 Percussion

Overall condition as seen in photos.
